My most current work looks at the intense topic of man's impact on nature. The sculptures challenge the paralyzing tension cultivated by relentless fear-mongering in all forms of media, and invite the viewer to reframe this tough issue with curiosity rather than fear. This work serves as a sorely needed reminder that we are infinitely capable of innovation in a state of curiosity.
This new series, “watcher blossoms”, features hot sculpted buds and blooms, each with a slightly unsettling human eye at its center. The realistic features and inescapable gaze, compel the viewer to see nature as a helpless witness to our choices and actions. Works in the series focus on issues under the umbrella of human impact on our planet. Spurred by the sobering and dire outcomes if human impact on climate change are left unchecked, I feel compelled to create this work.
